<p>Well I have a solution for you.  There is a natural way to lose belly fat.  It’s called a proper diet and exercise.</p>
<p>First of all, you want to have a balanced low calorie diet.  One suggestion is to “eat around the outside of the supermarket.”  That is, don’t go into the isles where all the processed food is.  Instead, eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as a moderate amount of lean meat and low fat dairy products.  Bulk up with natural foods like whole grains and legumes.</p>
<p>Be aware that there are food choices that you can make to save calories.  For instance, swapping 2 cups of air popped popcorn for 1 cup of potato chips saves you 95 calories.  And, instead of eating the prepackaged fruit on the bottom strawberry yogurt, eat ½ cup of sliced strawberries with ½ cup of fat free vanilla yogurt and save 105 calories.</p>
<p>Then, start to ramp up a cardio routine.  You should be doing heart healthy exercises at least 5 times a week.  One study showed that dieters who also walked for 50 minutes 3 times a week lost nearly twice as much belly fat as those who only reduced their calories.</p>
<p>You should aim for 45 minutes of strenuous exercise as a natural way to lose belly fat.  This exercise can include moderate to fast walking, jogging, cycling, or using any cardio machine at your gym.  </p>
<p>One popular routine that can burn up to 500 calories in a single session has you warming up for 3 minutes, picking up the intensity for 3 minutes, pushing yourself as hard as you can for two minutes, then slowing down for 3 minutes followed by pushing yourself for another 2 minutes.  Repeat this for a total of 45 minutes before doing a 2 minute cool down period.</p>
<p>You should be doing strength training on top of your cardio as well.  Working your muscles is key to finding the natural way to lose belly fat.  </p>
<p>Buy a belly ball and work out with this large 22 inch stability ball.  They cost about $30 in sporting goods stores, and if you are serious about finding a natural way to lose belly fat, you’ll get one.  Lie on your back and hold the ball in the air between your legs for one minute.  It’s easier to get the hang of than a traditional crunch and will strengthen your muscles just as well. <p>Diet and proper exercise including both cardio and strength training routines are key to the natural way to lose belly fat.</p>

As we eat more processed foods and less whole grains and produce, the natural fibers in our diet are becoming scarcer.  An average person should try to get at least 25 grams of fiber per day.  People who are serious about a diet to lose belly fat should get 35 grams of fiber.</p>
<p><strong>Secondly, realize that carbs aren’t the devil that some diets make them out to be, but too many calories from carbohydrates can increase your middle mass.</strong>  Carbohydrates should make up no more than 60 percent of your calories when you are on a diet to lose belly fat.  But, make sure that they are at least 45 percent of your diet.  As you can see, balance is the key here.  Most of your carbs should come from fruits and vegetables and you should avoid high carb, empty calorie foods like cupcakes.</p>
<p><strong>Third, drink your water.</strong>  Many people mistakenly believe that drinking a lot of water will give them puffy abs.  But, water actually flushes sodium out of your system which reduces puffiness.  Here’s a couple of ways to tell if you have enough water.  Are you thirsty?  Then you are already dehydrated.  Don’t ever lack water so long that you feel it.  Another way is to monitor the color of your urine.  If you’re drinking enough water, your urine will be close to colorless.</p>
<p><strong>Fourth, limit your sodium intake as it leads to puffiness.</strong>  A woman only needs 500 mg. of sodium a day for the body’s natural functions to work.  But the average American woman gets up to 6,000 grams!  A Chinese take out entry can have 3000 grams by itself.  You can limit your sodium by choosing fresh, natural foods.  That’s one way to be on a diet to lose belly fat.</p>
<p><strong>Fifth, have a small dinner and shut the kitchen down afterwards.</strong>  Having your calories during the day when you are actually burning them is key to losing weight.  Evening eating is often mindless eating.  You sit down in front of the television with a brand new bag of chips and before you know it, half the bag is gone.  Another benefit of eating light at night is that you’ll wake up hungry for a good breakfast.  People who eat good breakfasts are more likely to lose weight.</p>

In fact, it is not common for you to see someone who has belly fat and is not struggling with their weight.  As we approach the end of the first decade of this 21st century, obesity has haunted the lives of many people throughout the world, mainly the USA, where the rate of obesity is nearly 40%.  Billions of dollars are lost annually in lost productivity from people missing work and in medical costs as a result of being overweight.</p>
<p>Obesity is the term used by medical professionals that refers to the body storing more fat than it needs, and as a result, threatens the health of the individual.  There are many ways that people gain weight and accumulate belly fat.  Belly fat is primarily caused by eating high calorie foods – notably fast foods.  In the USA, fast foods have become more commonplace, as most people do not believe that they have the time to properly buy groceries and cook their own food at home.  The pressures of our fast paced society have caused this to happen, because once people return from work, they are too weary to prepare their own food.  The ideal alternative, to them, is to go to a fast food restaurant, a buffet, or other take-out restaurant.<span id="more-124"></span></p>
<p>The truth is that many fast food restaurants fry their meals.  While steps have been made for them to reduce the amount of fats they use in preparing their foods, the high caloric content has not decreased – in some cases, it&#8217;s even worse than before.  In fact, some fast foods can contain in excess of 3000 calories in a single serving, which happens to be the total daily allowance by USFDA as stated on their food pyramid site, mypyramid.gov. </p>
<p>Another common way people gain belly fat is by not exercising enough.  If you are to eat high calorie diets, and you do not exercise enough to compensate for the calories, then it is nearly guaranteed that you will gain belly fat.  Genetic problems can also add to this problem, and if these people engage themselves in the same eating habits mentioned above – and not exercising – obesity is a serious reality to them.  Fortunately, for 2010, many people have set their goals to lose their belly fat, and find the best ways to do just that.</p>
<p>One of these methods is to increase exercise.  One quick way to do this is replace driving short distances with walking.  If there is a store you need to go to, and it is only a few blocks away, then walking there instead of driving can make all the difference in the world.  Jogging and walking are both great exercises that can be done in your own neighborhood, as you don&#8217;t need to join a gym to do exercises to help you lose your belly fat in 2010.  If you have extra money to spend, consider hiring a personal trainer or purchasing an exercise machine.  But, don&#8217;t forget that one of the most important ways to lose your belly fat is to watch what you eat and pay attention to the labels of the food you purchase at the grocery store.</p>
